Strangely, I don't see a 2000 version. The learning company's Tax software is an adequate substitute. It is a menu driven, step by step federal filing process. It does a great job of calculating your figures whether you file 1040EZ or 1040 with multiple income, multiple W-2 and deductions.
Truth be told, the software itself rates 2 or 3 stars for functionality, but the price made me bump it to 4. The menu system is somewhat annoying, -almost- trapping you on their hamster wheel walk throughs... but hey - at 1/4 the cost of Turbo Tax, I can't complain too much. It works fine and I didn't have to use a calculator.

The format is very straight-forward, and thorough. It takes you through an interview process that calculates your return at the top of the screen as you progress. I found no glitches or download problems with this program whatsoever. Also, being a single father, Tax Act helped me get the biggest return I have ever received! Tax Act also emails you when the IRS has received and is reviewing your return.
I will certainly be using this program to do my 2001 yr taxes. Kudos to The Learning Company for such a fine product.

I bought this software last year and thought it was pretty good. As someone else mentioned navigation through the software is an area that can be a little annoying, but it is not very hard to use. For the average person (I cannot speak of those with extremely complicated returns) it is more than adequate and much cheaper than taking your taxes to someone to do. The Best-Selling Tax Act (Jewel Case) then to sell out very fast, if this is a must have product, be sure to order now to avoid disappointment.
