Customer Reviews:Not Ready Yet - Wait By Jim Matson After downloading and installing on my Mac, TurboTax attempts to update itself (as it should), saying there are 3 updates. The update process fails, and after 3 tries tells you to go to TurboTax's web site and do the update manually. There is even a place to register there and they will notify you when it is fixed. I suggest waiting until this update process is fixed, it is very annoying at present.

This is my second year to use TurboTax. It's so easy. They walk you through the process, asking simple, clear questions. All you must do is have your W2's and other documentation ready to answer the questions. You can stop whenever you wish, and come back later. You can go back and redo each section as often as you wish. You can see how much your return will be from Fed and State - at any time, based upon the info you've entered thus far. And e-filing is quick and easy (or at least, it was last year; haven't yet taken that step.)
The download-installation-update process worked flawlessly. I use Mac OS 10.6.8. I chose to download from Amazon, because I know I can always return to Amazon and re-download TurboTax if something happens to my computer. Also, I didn't have to wait for a CD to arrive. And I'm still not eager to use the cloud/web version which keeps everything on the TurboTax server instead of on my own computer. (Yeah, I know that Big Brother -- "they" -- already know about and see everything we do. I just feel better making it a fraction more difficult for them.)
There may be other good products out there, but I'm sticking with what I know works well: TurboTax.
Installed and Updated Successfully By Roger Moffat I'd been watching the price of this for a while - sometimes $49, sometimes $44, then suddenly as I'm cooking dinner it's $42, so I think I'll get that later, and an hour later it's $49. But 2 hours after that it's $42 again - what's up with this random pricing Amazon?????
In any case I got it for $41.94, downloaded and installed it no problems.
Started it up, filled in Registration details and it said there were 3 updates. They applied - somewhat slowly as the text on the dialog windows indicates, but you'd think in 2011 that we wouldn't have to deal with application windows that pop up and can't be moved to the back even when the application is hidden. The two windows stay on top of whatever app you switch to. What's up with that Intuit?????
Restarted after updates were applied and had to register again??????
Did that and it said I was up to date. Stepping through I get to State download, but that's not going to be ready until at least 3 Jan 2012.
