I had none of the install/update issues that buyers of the CD have had. As far as TurboTax goes, very good as usual. I have been using TurboTax for ma y years, and this version did the usual great job importing old information and giving me a good estimate of my 2011 taxes. A bright spot in the Intuit software lineup.
Very Useful By James Papeika I've been using TT for years without any problems. This is the first year that I purchased a "digital" edition; I did not have any problems with the download or installation on my iMac running OS X Lion. I like the fact that Amazon's library saves me the trouble of storing one more disc to collect dust.
Those considering TT should first check irs.gov since filers who earn less than $57,000 can file for free through the government's approved "free file" providers.
I chose the Deluxe edition WITHOUT the state filing option because some states (Pennsylvania and NJ) are well ahead of the IRS--they offer free online filing for most taxpayers (there are income limits, quantity (of W-2s etc.) limits, etc., but I think that most will qualify). Check your state's website. Most state returns can be prepared with minimal additional effort after you complete your federal return. In years past, I purchased the "basic" edition, which seems to provide the same capabilities as the "deluxe" version. (The basic was not available for download.)
