I bought Tubotax Home and Business 2012 from Amazon, and learned to my dismay that there is a bug in the program that will not let you download and install your state tax files. The only way I finally got mine was to be on hold (2 different people) for about 2 hours. Then they put a download on my Turbotax.com account so I could manually download it and install it into my copy of Turbotax.
This is unspeakably shoddy behavior for a company the size of Intuit, and who has always made good products. I received little apology from their customer service reps, who make it clear they are aware of the problem but so far have done little to fix it, other than forcing people to be on hold on the telephone for a couple of hours in order to get their copy of the state forms.
Of course, they DO allow from within the program the opportunity to buy the state program for another $35 or so, but I was not willing to pay for something that was supposed to be included in the program. This almost feels like an intentional fraudulent effort to get people to buy the state product over again.
Complain loudly so that Intuit takes this bug seriously. If enough of us write bad reviews, perhaps they will do something really appropriate, like proactively download the correct state to each customer and notify them by email that it is ready.Excellent product, ignore the bad review! By C. Herzo
This is an excellent product for filing your home and small business taxes if you do them together, but PLEASE read ALL of the information. The bad review below said it didn't state it wasn't for partnerships, well it DOES state that. It tells you very clearly in the product information that if you are a partnership, etc, then you should buy Turbotax Business 2012 and not this one. I am a sole proprietor and file my home and business taxes together, so this one is great for people like me - very simple and saves me a fortune in accountant fees because my business isn't too profitable YET!

I am halfway through the tax process already and am confident the software has what I need t cover my single member LLC, including the deductions for my home office. I used a CPA last year since it was my first year reporting as an LLC. That cost was $475 (a bargain rate for most CPAs). Today, I used last year's return to verify this software could meet my needs and sure enough, it will. The only thing keeping me from giving five stars is the lack of bookmarking capability and an occasional poorly worded question or explanation. Overall, this is a good value, though - the best option for anyone with small businesses or side businesses that are not multi-owner.
