I set a PriceTrace alert back in November and when I got an e-mail that the downloadable version was finally cheaper than the sale-priced boxed versions at Amazon, Costco, etc., I bought and downloaded. Haven't started my 2010 taxes yet but the Amazon download and install process was flawless. Upon first start, I was notified that five updates were available and they installed automatically without any problems.
The data import from my TurboTax-prepared 2009 return also went off without a hitch.
This seems to be a stable app...no issues at all to report thus far.

I've been preparing my taxes using TurboTax Premier ONLINE for many years now, but this year I switched to using the Mac desktop version of TurboTax Premier for the first time so I could import hundreds of investment related transactions from Quicken 2011 rather than try and enter them all manually.
The download from Amazon over a DSL line took only a few minutes and the software installed perfectly on my mid-2010 MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.6. There were 5 software updates that downloaded as part of the installation. One was VERY large and took some additional time.
To convert from the online to desktop tax preparation and get my prior year tax data carried forward, I followed the instructions I found on the TurboTax web site. They had me start an online tax return for 2010 (which imported the prior year's data) then had me save (download) that directly to my Mac. I opened this file in the desktop version of TurboTax Premier and continued preparing my 2010 return as usual. Everything worked flawlessly. I was able to export all my investment related transactions out of Quicken 2011 and successfully import them into TurboTax Premier.
The software is easy to use and is exactly like the online version.
A "pro" I've discovered with the desktop version is it seems so much faster to use than the online version. With the online version there are occasional lags presumably due to network congestion or overloaded TurboTax servers. I may just continue to use the downloadable desktop version in the future because I like it so much.

Downloaded relatively quickly since I live rurally and have sat. based internet. The program was easy to use and the download process was easy. Downloaded software and submitted my taxes both federal and state within 2 hours total. I know another customer complained about the state filing fee, but that is standard from my experience. I understand the basis of their comment though. I have used an alternate program the past two years (it also included state filing fee). This was much easier and time effective program in general. I was much happier since I could download it.
I have leopard OS and only version 1.5.8. The Best-Selling TurboTax Premier Federal + e-File + State 2010 for Mac [Download] [OLD VERSION] then to sell out very fast, if this is a must have product, be sure to order now to avoid disappointment.
